A beautiful medium, ornamental shrub with slender, dark purple branches which often arch with blue-green pinnate leaflets. Sprays of mauve, pink or white pea flowers are produced during spring.
This shrub makes a stunning impression when planted amongst other plants with green foliage. Ideal as an architectural, feature plant.
Ideal for sunny to partly shaded positions but performs best in dappled shade. Tolerates frost and drought. early tip pruning and light branch trimming is beneficial in promoting a strong and freely branched shrub. Do not prune old wood.
