An erect and shrubby, medium sized grower, with magenta bracts and small, pointed white flowers during summer.  The long canes have sharp thorns that help with climbing.

An ideal, climbing plant for effectively covering pergolas and other structures.  Wonderful to provide a tropical feel to the garden or patio.

Prefers moist soils but will tolerate short dry periods once established.  Prune after flowering to encourage new flowering wood.  Mulch well.  Apply low nitrogen fertiliser in spring.
