Evergreen, medium sized shrub, with fragrant, deep violet-purple flowers in summer.  Fast growing and very hardy.

Requires a well drained site in full sun or part shade.  Tolerates coastal conditions.  Water after planting until established.  Prune hard in later winter to improve flowering.
