This medium sized shrub produces a profusion of large fragrant, rich red-purple flower spikes in spring set against long, pointed, mid-green foliage.

A colourful and fragrant addition to cottage gardens, borders and shrubberies.  Will attract butterflies to the garden.

Requires a well drained site in full sun or part shade.  Tolerates coastal conditions.  Water after planting until established.  Prune hard in later winter to improve flowering.
