Evergreen Australian native shrub or small tree with attractive "bottlebrush" shaped flowers.

FEATURES: Generally grey-green, small-leaved, woody-stemmed, bush shrubs to small trees. Grown for beautiful bottlebrush flowers of many colours through most seasons, depending on the variety. Useful tough shrub. Generally tolerant of temporarily wet, average to poor, even dry soils.

CONDITIONS: Best growth in free draining average fertility soils in a sunny site. tolerant of partial sun, protected seaside sites and frost.

FOR BEST RESULTS: Use a thick mulch of wood chips or leaf litter with a little compost. Tip prune plant regularly to keep bushy and encourage more flowers. Water regularly.
