Federation is an Australian bred camellia named in honour of the 100th anniversary of the Federation of Australian States.

Federation combines all the traditional features of a bushy, upright japonica camellia, grown in Australian gardens for the last 100 years, with modern breeding adding long flowering and modern flower form.

Federation has large blush to bi-colour, peony form flowers, deep pink at edge shading to white at the base of petals.

The plant is self-cleaning (spent flowers fall whole), with bushy upright growth and glossy, green foliage.

Planting, preparation and care:

Plant Federation with a prepared planting mixture or a well decomposed compost. Mulch soil surface area and keep moist in dry months. Light pruning for shape in spring with the addition of some recommended fertiliser will maintain a healthy, bushy plant.
