Description:  A fast growing, highly ornamental palm of striking appearance, which features a clean, smooth trunk, slightly swollen at the base and large drooping fronds.

Uses:  Generally grown as a specimen in warmer climates.  Used widely for landscaping around pools, or as a feature plant or lawn specimen in parks and gardens.

Postion:  Outdoors it requires a sunny to partly shaded position, which is free from frost.  Indoors, choose a warm spot with filtered light.

Care:  Keep moist in summer, but drier in winter.  Feed with a slow release fertiliser as required.
