Notes from the plant tag:
“Dwarf Orange” is a spectacular dwarf selection of the famous Western Australian Flowering Gum. In summer “Dwarf Orange” is smothered in massed trusses of deep vermillion orange flowers highlighted with gold tip stamens.
“Dwarf Orange” grows and flowers best in a full sun position. It will tolerate coastal conditions and responds well to the pruning of old gumnuts after flowering to maintain plant shape and encourage a more prolific flowering the following year.
If the soil is poorly drained a raised garden bed is recommended. Alternatively it makes a fine large pot specimen using a premium Australian native potting mix.
“Dwarf Orange” is a hardy plant and once established tolerates extended dry periods and light frost. After establishment in the ground “Dwarf Orange” requires no extra watering. As with any grafted plant, any growth below the graft union should be pruned back flush with the main stem.
