Gardenia jasminoides (syn. G. augusta) "Magnifica"
Part shade
Height: to 1.5 m

Flowers in spring/summer
Notes from the plant tag:
Gardenias are much loved for their highly perfumed flowers. This rounded evergreen shrub bears large, double white flowers that are elegantly offset by the glossy dark green leaves.
An ideal container plant. Plant or position near windows where the perfume can be enjoyed.
Grows best in a warm, full sun or partly shaded position in well drained, humus-rich soil. Protect from frost. keep soil moist but not wet. Apply fertiliser and compost regularly.
Princess Fancy-Plants: "While the tag says part shade, I personally have a number of Gardenia magnificas planted in my own garden in full sun and they do very well.
Having said that, I'd probably avoid planting them up against a wall that received hot mid-summer afternoon sun from the southwest."
