Notes from the plant tag:
Gin Gin Jewel is a selected form from the species, Grevillea obtusifolia. Gin Gin Jewel is a low mounding ground cover which produces a spectacular mass display of soft, reddish toothbrush-shaped flowers between late autumn to early spring.
POSITION: previous full sun though will tolerate part dappled shade. It is adaptable to most well-drained soils and tolerates periods of dry conditions. This groundcover will require summer watering over prolonged periods where there is little or no rain.
CARE: it is best to initially feed with a slow release, low phosphorus fertiliser to help establish the plant. It is beneficial to follow up with the occasional re-application of fertiliser and apply as required. Mulching around the base of the plant will help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
USES: Gin Gin Jewel is a dense groundcover that is useful for rockery plantings. It can also be planted in areas where low-level plantings are required for the large landscape sites or small garden beds. This plant produces colour and nectar for fauna over the cooler months.
