"Ruby Jewel" has been selected for its small, compact habit and lush glossy green foliage. Beautiful ruby, red flowers form in autumn through to spring.

POSITION: Grows well in both dappled shade and full sun. It is adaptable to most well-drained soils and is a versatile plant. Once this plant is established, it will tolerate short periods of dry, and light frost conditions.

CARE:  This plant requires little maintenance and will benefit from pruning to keep it compact.  It is best to initially feed with a slow-release, low phosphorus fertiliser to help first establish the plant, and it is beneficial to follow up with the occasional reapplication of fertiliser and apply as required. Mulching around the base of the plant will help retain moisture and suppress weeds.

USES:  "Ruby Jewel" has a variety of uses from hedging to garden borders for rockery planting. It can be pruned to a desired height to create low to medium hedges.  It is a great choice for dense, low screening in gardens, or as a specimen tub plant on the patio.
