Notes from the plant tag:

Grevillea Watermelonice is a self-sown selection which came up in the garden of Jan Glazebook, Brisbane.  It is believed to be a seedling of Coconut Ice, but differs in that its flowers are twice the size.

USES:  Growing to .75 m tall with a spread of 1 m it is ideally suited to mass plantings or in pots as a feature plant.

POSITION:  Prefers to grow in full sun in well-drained soil although can be hardy in other soil types.  Will tolerate light frosts.

WATERING:  Although very drought tolerant, deep watering during extended dry periods will increase vigour and flowering.  Mulching during these periods will also retain the moisture but be careful to keep the area around the trunk free of mulch to avoid collar rot.

FERTILISE:  Fertilise with a slow-release native fertiliser during the growing season.

PRUNING:  Prune in summer months after flowering to promote a more compact form.
