Heliconia angusta "Red Christmas"

A beautiful, evergreen perennial with attractive, bright red bracts from June to September.  The large, green leaves grow up to 1.8 m long.

This Heliconia is well suited to tropical gardens and the flower stalks make useful indoor decorations.

Prefers a humus-rich, well-drained soil in a protected, warm location.  Remove spent flower stalks.  Keep moist during growing season.
