Notes from the plant tag:
Hibiscus Double Red is a bushy deciduous shrub with elegant red, large double flowers. Grows to 3 m.
ASPECT: Hibiscus thrive in open positions in full sun and warm climates. This variety of Hibiscus is frost tolerant/hardy.
SOILS: Compost enriched, free draining light soil is preferred. Improve poor drainage by adding gypsum and organic matter. Mounding the soil also assists drainage. Slightly acid pH of 6.2 is best.
FOR BEST RESULTS: Water well until established. Hibiscus are hardy in dry areas but thrive when given adequate Summer moisture. Maintain a thick mulch of organic matter and/or manure. Fertilise lightly and often October to June with complete food high in potash to produce a mass of blooms. Prune back to around one third in early Spring to encourage bushy growth.
