A rare evergreen tree.  The starry yellow flowers are produced in summer and are exquisitely fragrant, especially at night.  With slow growth, the Himalayan magnolia forms a neat, upright tree, with smooth bark and large glossy leaves.

The wonderful scent and attractive shape makes the Himalayan Magnolia a specimen tree, used as the source for expensive perfumes and essential oils.

Grow in well-drained soil.  Apply mulch to help with moisture retention.  Cultivate soil before planting.  Water moderately.
