Anigozanthos flavidus
We are proud to present the "Tall and Tough" Landscape series that have been selected specifically for their adaptability to garden conditions in virtually all parts of Australia, including hot humid climates such as Sydney and Brisbane, as well as cooler climates (in positions protected from heavy frosts) such as Hobart and Canberra.
As well as being a magnet for nectar feeding birds such as spinebills, they also make superb, long lasting cut flowers.
FLOWERING
- A tough, long lived perennial kangaroo paw
- soft lilac-coloured flower buds that age to a softer colour
- flower stems to 2 m tall
POSITION
- Will grow well is most soil types from sandy to clay soils (excepting very heavy clay)
CARE
- prune back spent flower stems and associated foliage after flowers fade
- feed with a handful of general-purpose fertiliser after pruning
- ensure an even supply of moisture during the flowering period
- cut off any blackened leaves that may appear if plants are subject to stress such as frost
