Well drained soil
Notes from the plant tag:
Princess Magnolia Little Sarah is a compact and tidy shrub, flowering in winter/spring and again in summer/autumn.
Flowers are small and creamy white with a pink blush. Easily maintained as a low flowering hedge. Leaves are a deep leathery green colour. Beautiful perfume.
Position: Will thrive in full sun and part shade.
Soil: Magnolias like a rich top soil, but are tolerant of most soil types, provided there is good drainage. It is advisable to build up poor soil with well composted organic matter.
Watering: Water regularly until established, then periodically as required. Once established, Princess Magnolias are surprisingly drought hardy.
Fertilising: Feed with a complete fertiliser in spring and summer, as required.
Flowering: Two flowering seasons - winter/spring and again in summer/autumn.
Grow Tips: A good mulch is essential. Lightly prune after spring flowering for shape, if required.
