Notes from the plant tag:

An evergreen shrub growing to 4 metres x 2 metres with 3.5 cm long narrow leaves of soft fuzzy brown maturing to green.

In mid spring to late summer cup-shaped creamy-yellow coloured flowers with maroon edges open releasing an intense banana-like scent.

Intermittent flowering can follow often after rain.

Plant in acid to neutral well drained but moist soil.  Prefers full sun to part shade.

Ideal for an accent plant in gardens, near patios and walkways to enjoy the scent.  Also trims to an informal screen or hedge.

Most Michelia are easy care and tolerant of drought, heat and humidity but may suffer a little from very cold winters.  Apply a well balanced fertiliser as required for growth, late winter to mid-summer ideal.
