It is long lived and slow growing with attractive silvery grey foliage and a beautiful grey trunk which becomes gnarled with age. It produces creamy-white, small flowers during spring followed by green fruit which ripen to red or black through summer and autumn.
Position: Thrives in a sunny position.
Soil: Wide range of soil conditions.
Watering: Although drought tolerant, for maximum fruit production water well during flower and fruit formation.
Fertilising: Feed in spring with a high nitrogen fertiliser.
Uses: Providing a classic taste of the Mediterranean, the fruit can be picked and prepared at various stages depending on the desired flavour required.
Grow Tips: Choose a quality potting mix if your olive tree is to be planted in a pot. Prune lightly after fruiting.
