Notes from the plant tag:

A smaller growing variety of the species, this rounded shrub bears long, lanceolate leaves, with new growth tinted red.  In spring it bears large, wine-red, powder-puff flowers, followed by white fruits.

Ideal hedge or screening plant.  Suitable for containers.  The flowers attract birds to the garden.

Grow in a shady position in moist, well-drained soil, enriched with humus.  Protect from frost.  Keep moist in dry weather.
