A palm well suited to tropical and sub-tropical areas, it has a handsome habit with a green trunk and so called “redneck” which is the crown shaft.
 
An excellent plant as a feature for its striking architectural foliage in garden beds outdoors or in containers.
 
Originated from Madagascar.
 
Can be grown in a sunny or partly shaded position and makes a great indoor plant for a well-lit position.  Keep moist, but do not allow to become wet.  Fertilise a couple of times during the warmer, growing months to encourage strong, lush growth.
