Popular Australian native shrub with showy crimson "bottlebrush" flowers with gold tips.
FEATURES: Open upright shrub with narrow, grey-green foliage and very showy scarlet red blooms. Attractive to birds. Salmon and purple flowering forms also exist.
CONDITIONS: Suited to free draining moist soils in full sun to light partial shade. Tolerant of quite dry soils once established.
FOR BEST RESULTS: Enrich soil with well-rotted compost included in a thick mulch. Keep mulch clear of trunk. Trim back after flowering to maintain a compact shaped bush.
