Showy, evergreen shrub with soft foliage. Masses of red bottlebrush-like flowers, tipped with golden anthers, are displayed in winter. 

Ideal for shrubberies, hedges screening and exposed coastal sites. The flowers attract nectar feeding birds. 

Best grown in a sunny, open site, protected from frost. Tolerates drought and withstands coastal conditions. Mulch well. Prune after flowering to maintain compact growth.
