DESCRIPTION:  A deciduous, medium sized shrub with medium sized, single, mauve blooms each with a carmine eye.  A hardy, upright shrub which flowers throughout summer.

USES:  Ideal for garden borders, especially when planted in groups.

POSITION:  Prefers a moist, well-draining soil, rich in organic matter, and a sunny or partly shaded site.  Frost hardy.

CARE:  Prune in late winter to maintain shape and promote healthy, flowering wood.  Fertilise and water regularly when in flower.

PLANTING:  Cultivate soil before planting.  Dig hole twice the width of the container.  Remove plant from container and place into the hole so the soil level is the same as the surrounding ground.  Fill hole firmly and water in well even if the soil is moist.
