Robust, winter flowering Australian native shrub of character.

Stiff, shiny, serrated leaves form a bushy shrub to tree.  Prominent, creamy-white flowers in winter and long-lasting seed pods.  Attractive gnarled bark.  Bird attracting.

Mulch well.  Prune lightly in shape.

 

USES:  Ideal as a low informal hedge, flowers can be used in floral design.

POSITION:  Suited to moist soils in full sun.  Tolerant of tropical climates, sea spray and wet soils.

WATERING:  Although very drought tolerant, watering during extended dry periods will increase flowering vigour.

CARE:  Prune after flowering to maintain its compact growth.
