Notes from the plant tag:

These sub-tropical varieties produce delicious, crunchy apples very similar to their cold climate cousins however they only require a low amount of chill.

The trees are grafted onto a selected dwarfing rootstock.  They will grow to less than half the size of a regular tree but produce fruit that is the same size and quality.  Dorset Golden and Tropic Sweet need to be planted together to produce fruit.  Anna is self-fertile, but can also be planted with either Dorsett Golden or Tropic Sweet.

Pruning, spraying and harvesting is much easier to manage with dwarf apple trees and they often come into regular bearing earlier than the standard counterpart.  Initially they grow at much the same rate but once the dwarf trees get around 1.5m they begin to slow down and settle into maturity.  The trees come into bearing very early and often fruit in their first year.
