One of the hardiest of Eastern Banksias, it has broad, glossy leaves with irregular teeth. For most of the year, it produces greenish yellow flower-heads which mature to a golden colour and then to brown.

An ornamental shrub for the garden. The flowers attract nectar feeding birds.

Best grown in a sunny, open position.

Tolerates drought, light frosts and withstands coastal conditions.

Prune after flowering to maintain compact growth.
