A spectacular Australian native evergreen tree prized for its striking, variegated green and golden-yellow foliage, attractive reddish new growth and magnificent clusters of fluffy, bright golden-yellow flowers. Flowering can occur throughout much of the year in warm climates, creating a dazzling display of colour against the beautifully patterned leaves.

Its naturally bushy, spreading growth habit makes it an outstanding feature tree for subtropical gardens, larger landscapes, informal screening and tropical-style plantings. The colourful foliage provides year-round ornamental interest, even when the tree is not flowering, while the nectar-rich blooms attract honeyeaters and other native birds.

Ideally suited to Brisbane's subtropical climate, Daintree Gem performs best in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Keep well watered during establishment and prolonged dry periods, and mulch to conserve moisture. Once established, it tolerates moderate frost and occasional dry conditions, although consistent moisture encourages healthy growth and prolific flowering. Responds well to pruning and can be maintained at a smaller size.
